K-Speed Diablo parts for the Rebel 500 — what the kit includes and what it costs
K-Speed out of Thailand builds the most recognizable aftermarket look for the modern Rebel. Their Diabolus / Diablo line turns the stock CMX500 into an aggressive urban rod — lower, meaner, and unmistakably custom. Here is what the main pieces are and what to budget if you are ordering from NZ.
The signature piece: Diabolus Under-Cowl (RB0198)
This is the part you see in every K-Speed build photo. A fiberglass (or ABS) belly fairing that wraps under the engine and visually lowers the bike’s centre of gravity. It bolts to existing frame and engine mount points — no cutting or welding.
Fitment: CMX300/500 2017–2024. The updated part number RB0198e is confirmed compatible with the 2025 E-Clutch CMX500.
Price: Roughly USD $180–250 depending on finish. Shipping from Thailand to NZ typically adds $60–120 via DHL or EMS.
Other Diablo-line parts
| Part | What it does | Approx. price (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Tank cover | Bolt-on reshaping of the teardrop tank into a slimmer bobber profile | $150–200 |
| Headlight cowl | Sleeker alternative to the Honda OEM headlight cowl | $80–130 |
| Low handlebar set | Drag-bar geometry — drops the riding position | $60–100 |
| Rear fender / loop kit | Shortens the factory tail for a chopped look | $100–160 |
Landed cost into NZ (realistic estimate)
For a typical 3-piece order (under-cowl + tank cover + headlight cowl):
- Parts: ~USD $450–580
- Shipping (DHL): ~USD $80–120
- NZ customs duty (5% on motorcycle parts): ~NZD $40–55
- GST (15% on goods + shipping + duty): ~NZD $110–140
- Total landed: roughly NZD $850–1,200 depending on exchange rate and finish options.
K-Speed ships internationally from their own site. Some parts occasionally appear on Amazon or eBay from resellers — prices are usually higher but shipping may be faster or included.
Install complexity
Most K-Speed parts are bolt-on with basic hand tools. The under-cowl is the most involved — you may need to support the engine briefly while fitting brackets. K-Speed provides install photos but not detailed written instructions; YouTube has several CMX500 Diablo build walkthroughs.
Fitment warnings
- Exhaust clearance: The under-cowl sits close to the stock exhaust. If you have already fitted an aftermarket slip-on with a different exit angle, check clearance before ordering.
- Oil drain access: The cowl may partially cover the oil drain bolt. Some owners drill an access hole or remove the cowl for oil changes.
- Crash damage: Fiberglass cowls crack on impact. ABS options (where available) are more resilient but heavier.
