Affiliate disclosure
Plain language
Some links on Rebel Rouser are affiliate links. If you click one and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission or referral fee from the retailer or programme. That support helps keep the site online; it is not a surcharge — the price you see at checkout is set by the seller.
Transparency
When a page is built around product recommendations, we aim to label commercial relationships clearly (including near the top of the page where it is easy to notice). If something is not an affiliate link today, it may become one later as programmes are added — the disclosure still applies to the site as a whole.
How links are built in code
Outbound affiliate links set rel to sponsored, noopener, and noreferrer via the ExternalAffiliateLink component and helpers
in src/lib/affiliate.ts. Store tags in PUBLIC_AMAZON_TAG_AU / PUBLIC_AMAZON_TAG_US — see README.
Example (generic Amazon AU search — not a product endorsement): Open example Amazon AU search
New Zealand readers
NZ advertising standards expect commercial content to be identifiable. Treat affiliate links as paid connections, do your own research, and do not rely on this site as mechanical or safety advice. If you are unsure about fitment, installation torque, or roadworthiness, use a qualified mechanic.
This page is a general disclosure stub — it is not legal advice. If you operate a business in NZ, consider getting guidance from a lawyer or accountant about endorsements, GST, and income reporting.
